Different ways to reach out

I participated in a fun run at the weekend that was in aid of Parkinson’s Disease (http://www.budsrun.co.uk/buds-run/). Whilst this event was primarily about running there were high profile guests attending including Paula Radcliffe and Hannah England. However, it is not the running that is important in this blog! At the event there was a stand on clinical trials and I was really pleased to see it there – it made me realise that the best way to reach out to the public is to appear at the widest range of events and not just those where the “already engaged” masses will be in attendance. The stand had activities for children as well as information for adults and during the day they managed to talk to well over 100 individuals.

I now want to look out for the most unusual places to undertake public involvement – watch this space for updates.
