I have been invited to give a TED talk at the University of Birmingham on 21st March. This is both thrilling and frightening for me. Although I am passionate about research and engaging with the public TED talks are something different. The emphasis is on the speaker and not their slides – I will feel very exposed on the stage and am worried that I won’t do justice to the topic.

I am talking about why children should lead research projects – I hope to give the audience something to think about and encourage them to speak to younger people about research more often. I will update you on how this goes and provide a link to the talk.
