I have had the pleasure of being involved with many children, young people and parents who are involved in research that is designed to help young people.
Simon Stones is one of those young people and he has made a video for Arthritis UK that shares his story
It is definitely work having a look at this to see in Simon’s own words why research is important – not only for his condition but also in terms of his career and life choices
I think we need more of these stories to demonstrate that it is critical that young people are involved in research as it benefits the research and more importantly it offers amazing benefits to the young people involved – what is not to like!
the Nuffield Council on Bioethics’ latest report Children and clinical research: ethical issues is now available on their website. This also contains videos and is well worth a look for anyone interested in research with young people
